About Grace Zhao
Grace Zhao: Where AI and Artistry Converge
Grace Zhao, a soon-to-be graduate of Stanford University, is a creative and compassionate individual who has always been fascinated by the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance human expression. She will be graduating with a degree in fine arts and a minor in computer science, with a focus on AI-powered art tools.
Childhood Inspired by Technology and Creativity
Grace’s love for art and technology dates back to her childhood, spent watching her parents work on innovative projects that combined creativity and innovation. Her father, a robotics engineer, and her mother, a psychologist, encouraged her to explore the intersections of art and technology. As she grew older, Grace became increasingly interested in the ways that AI could be used to support artistic expression and creativity.
Exploring the Intersections of AI and Art
At Stanford, Grace continued to explore the intersections of AI and art. She worked on several projects that combined machine learning algorithms with traditional art forms, such as painting and sculpture. One of her notable projects, “AI-Generated Portraits,” used a generative adversarial network (GAN) to create realistic portraits of historical figures. Another project, “Poetic Machines,” used natural language processing (NLP) to generate poetry based on user input.
A Future in AI-Powered Art
Grace’s ultimate goal is to become a leading artist and researcher in the field of AI-powered art. She believes that AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we create and experience art, and she is committed to using her talents to make a positive impact in this field. With her unique combination of artistic and technical expertise, Grace is poised to make a significant contribution to the development of more sophisticated AI-powered art tools.
A Message of Hope and Creativity
As Grace prepares to graduate, she reflects on the importance of creativity and self-expression in our lives. “AI has the potential to augment human creativity, rather than replace it,” she says. “I believe that by working together, humans and machines can create something truly beautiful and innovative. I am excited to embark on this journey, using my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world.”
A Close Bond with Her Brother, Aiden
Grace is also close to her brother, Aiden Zhao, who is also a student at Stanford. Aiden is studying computer science and cognitive psychology, with a focus on human-centered AI. The two siblings often discuss their shared interests in AI and art, and they have collaborated on several projects that combine their expertise. “My brother is a brilliant engineer and a compassionate person,” Grace says. “He has a deep understanding of the potential of AI to support human well-being, and I am excited to see the impact he will make in this field.
